We are pleased to announce that Dr. Udara Joseph De Silva has received an Honorary Professorship in Education and Business Management jointly awarded by AUBSS and QAHE. Dr. Udara Joseph De Silva is an experienced educator with expertise in communication and liaison, administration, customer service, rapport building, GDPR knowledge, budget management, organization and planning, problem-solving, working under pressure and to deadline, leadership and staff training, and sales and marketing strategies.
Joseph De Silva’s work experience includes serving as an IB Educator. In this role, Joseph designs, prepares, and delivers high-quality lessons that meet the individual needs of all students in line with the Primary Years Program. Joseph inspires mixed culture and ability classes by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students, assesses and monitors student progress, and collaborates with other teachers to share new ideas, approaches, and professional knowledge. Joseph also communicates accurately and regularly with parents and liaises with the Head of Primary School and Coordinator to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroom. In addition, Joseph contributes to the extra-curricular activities program and participates in school activities such as assemblies, evening events, and conferences while maintaining constant awareness of the needs of every student whose English is their second language.
Joseph De Silva also served as a Kindergarten Educator. In this role, Joseph instructed and assigned classes in the locations and times designated, created and maintained a classroom environment that is conducive to student learning, implemented instructional methods and materials that are appropriate and aligned with school standards, assessed students’ accomplishments daily, and reported progress to their parents. Joseph also participated in parent/teacher meetings to assist parents’ participation and support their child’s education.
