Born on July 7th, 1974, Ponle Henry Kareem boasts an impressive educational background. He holds a Ph.D. in Banking and Finance from Near East University, Nicosia, which he achieved in 2023. Prior to his doctoral studies, Mr. Kareem obtained an MSc. in Accountancy from Imo State University, Owerri in 2016. Additionally, he holds an MBA in Financial Management from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (2006), a B.Sc. in Accounting from Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma (2004), a PGD in Management (Accounting Option) from the University of Calabar (1999), and an Associate Degree in Accounting and Auditing from Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin (1997).
As an esteemed professional, Ponle Henry Kareem holds memberships in various prestigious organizations. He is a Fellow Member (FCE) of the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria since 2022, a Full Member of the Institute of Public Accountants, Australia since 2020, an Associate of the Institute of Financial Accountants, U.K since 2019, an Associate Member of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria since 2005, and an Associate Member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (Chartered) since 2003.
Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Kareem has taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate-level courses at esteemed academic institutions. Currently serving as a research scholar at Near East University, Nicosia, he also imparts his expertise at Rauf Dentaz University, Nicosia, and The University of Mediterranean Karpasia, Cyprus. His instructional repertoire includes courses such as Advanced Theory of Finance, Principles of Accounting, Business Mathematics, Career Development Planning, Management Forecasting, Auditing, Oil & Gas Accounting, and Company Law, among others.
In addition to his academic endeavors, Ponle Henry Kareem has held significant positions in the industry. Notably, he served as a Regional Operations Manager at Nasco Group of Companies (2013-2016), a Key Account Manager at Chi Limited, Lagos (TGI group) (2010-2012), the Head of Marketing at Equinox Industries Nig Ltd (2008-2009), a Field Sales Manager at Industrial Project International Nig. (2006-2008), and a Depot Manager at Unilever Nig Plc (2001-2003).
Mr. Kareem’s intellectual contributions extend beyond the classroom, as evidenced by his research publications. His insightful articles have been published in renowned international refereed journals such as Energies and Transnational Journal of Economics, Finance, and Management.
